With FIRST HAND WOMAN I’m swimming in the place where dreams meet fears…
This play has been in my head and on the page for four years now, and it will finally start its journey into the outside world and onto the stage in just two and a half months.
Wow, Montreal, here we come!
I’m exhausted tonight, but feel the need to continue working into the wee hours. I have been avoiding the script this week. Editing film projects, brainstorming around the hows of many logistical challenges, etc. Letting my subconscious deal with a block in the writing.
That’s the thing about blocks, you have to figure out how to get past them. Especially when your world debut is just around the corner. You have to do your current best. 🙂
I think I’m in a bit of shock that we’re finally going up on an actual stage. This story has been in my head for so long. It doesn’t seem quite real that it will become a thing out in the world. Lol.
I have to admit that I’m pretty terrified.
What if it doesn’t work? What if this idea that I have of really moving audiences, of really making an impact is just a pipe dream? The good/bad thing is, time will tell.
In the meantime, I’m going to focus on the small things that I can do, because whenever I focus on the mountain ahead of me, my heart goes completely crazy.
Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”
